User Agreement for the Twin Cities Library of Things:
Thank you for joining the Twin Cities Library of Things, a service that allows patrons to borrow various items, including but not limited to kitchen appliances, tools, gardening equipment, electronics, entertaining supplies, toys and games, craft supplies, kids gear, and recreational equipment. By borrowing items from the Twin Cities Library of Things, you agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Eligibility: To borrow items, you must be at least 18 years old and have a valid Twin Cities Library of Things membership. You must also have no outstanding fines or currently overdue items.
- Borrowing Limits: You may borrow up to to the max amount allocated for your membership type for a period of 1 week (unless otherwise stated on the individual item.) Items may be renewed for an additional 1-week period if there are no holds on the item.
- Returns: Items must be returned on or before the due date, directly to the Twin Cities Library of Things during operating hours. Items returned after the due date will incur a $1 late fee per day, per item (unless otherwise stated on the individual item; rental items will necessarily have a higher fee.)
- Damage Repairs or Replacement: You are responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing any items that are lost, stolen, or damaged while in your possession. If an item is damaged beyond repair, you will be charged the full replacement cost of the item.
- Caring for your item: Please follow any instructions provided for the use, care, and cleaning of your item(s). All items must be returned in the same or better condition than when they were released. Items that require additional cleaning upon return will result in a charge of reasonable cleaning fees to the member based on the time and effort required to restore the item to “ready to use” condition.
- No Smoking: To protect the health of all of our members, Items will not be released to households where smoking occurs inside the home. Smoking (cigarettes, e-cigarettes etc.) is strictly prohibited while using or handling Library of Things items. If 2 or more of our volunteers believe an item smells like smoke upon return, you will be required to pay the full price of the item. If this occurs on more than one occasion, your membership may be revoked or suspended.
- In consideration of being permitted to borrow Item from The Twin Cities Library of Things, I hereby voluntarily waive, release, and discharge and covenant not to sue the Twin Cities Library of Things (“Library”), its respective successors, assigns, officers, agents, employees, and volunteer (hereafter referred to as “Releasees”) from any and all claims, actions or demands of any kind, nature and description, including claims or actions for damages for death, personal injury, or property damage and from any and all liabilities, damage, injuries, action or causes of action either at law or in equity, whether caused by any defect in the Item, negligent act or omission of the Releasees, or otherwise arising out of or in any way related to or connected with my borrowing the Item. I have read the entire document and my electronic acceptance below indicates my agreement with the above statements.
By borrowing items from the Twin Cities Library of Things, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these terms and conditions and agree to abide by them.
